LOGISTICS:
Travel: Recommended travel days on Monday and Friday. Lodging: Hampton Inn, Corinth, Mississippi Schedule: Preparation time on Tuesday with icebreaker in the evening. Staff ride on Wednesday and Thursday with integration dinner that night. Group size: Minimum 8 people per conference group; maximum of 14 people per conference group. Maximum of 6 groups at a time. OMNA will provide one retired senior leader either a U.S. Marine or a Firefighter to facilitate learning for each conference group. Transportation: Groups provide their own transportation around the battlefield (usually rented 15 passenger vans). Walking options available at the battlefield (6-10 miles each day) but transportation is needed from the hotel in Corinth to the battlefield (30 minute drive). The battle for Shiloh in April 1862 was one of the first major engagements in the Western Theater of the Civil War. Untested troops and untested leaders find themselves in a catastrophic incident that shocks the populace of both the Union and the Confederacy with over 23,000 casualties between the three armies involved. This two-day staff ride is used as part of the National Staff Ride Workshop program.
