You are Tȟašúŋke Witkó (Crazy Horse), a Type I Incident Commander living in your community with your wife Black Shawl. It has been a tough season, and your community has been displaced repeatedly over the past month trying avoid threats from the east, west, and south. Last week you and your incident management team responded to a major threat about 25 miles south at the headwaters of Rosebud Creek. Your team successfully managed that incident, and the threat has been effectively contained and no longer poses an immediate threat to your community. Sitting Bull (Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake) your area commander has communicated his vision... What do you understand your calling to be in this time and place? How do you prepare yourself and your team? This is a popular event for IMTs and Hotshot crews.
